Mary Columbus

Columbus, Mary Evelyn, 98, peacefully passed away at her residence on Sunday, July 18, 2010 with her family present. She was a retired sales associate for Stewart’s Dry Goods and a parishioner of St. Rita’s Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilliard and Liza Curry Williams, husband Pete J. Columbus and a brother Curry Williams.
Mary Evelyn is survived by her two children, Charles R. Columbus (Pat) and Shanna Columbus; granddaughter Lisa Ann Milam (Jeffrey); two great-grandchildren Candace M. and Merritt C. Milam; brother Richard Williams and two sisters Marjorie Sheldon and Kathryne Dunn, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from noon-8:p.m. at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rita Church, 8709 Preston Highway, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Rita’s Church, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in Nashville, St. Vincent DePaul, and Visually Impaired Preschool Services.
