Mrs. Gretta Mehaffey of Troy died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her residence. She was 72. Funeral services for Mrs. Gretta Mehaffey will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Hollis Bradley and Rev. Terry Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Mossy Grove Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the chapel. Mrs. Mehaffey was born December 16, 1937 in Troy, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Luther Hester and Nellie Crook Hester. She was a homemaker in her own home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ander C. Mehaffey, parents Luther and Nellie Crook Hester, 2 brothers, Rudolph Hester and Harris Hester, and a sister, Emma Grace Oliver. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and A.C. Adams, Troy; and many special nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Oliver, Chris Oliver, Ronnie Adams, Bubba Adams, Blake Adams, Alex Adams and Brent Walker. Memorials may be made to Hospice Advantage, P.O. Box 965, Troy, AL.
