The Troy Belles picked up right where it left off Monday, as it won two games to advance to the sub-district championship game Tuesday.

The Belles were scheduled to begin sub-district play Saturday against Zion Chapel, but got less than an inning in due to rain.

However, that was enough time for Troy to build a 3-0 lead that it expanded upon Monday.

Troy pounded Zion Chapel, and went on to win 13-1.

The Trojans then took on Eufaula in their second game of the night and had even more success, winning 25-4. No stats for either game were available as of press time.

The two wins puts Troy in the driver’s seat of the sub-district, as Troy will play Zion Chapel once more in Eufaula today at 6 p.m. Zion Chapel must defeat Troy twice to win the sub-district, while Troy needs only one win to bring home the title.

“We’re just going to go out and play ball like we have been playing, and hopefully good things will keep happening for us,” said head coach Buddy Mehaffey.
