“The play was written for the entire family, young and old,” James said. “We have a live band and a lighting specialist that will leave the audience amazed.

“The play was performed at the Davis Theater in Montgomery and got rave reviews from the audience of more than a thousand.”

James said the audience rated “Don’t Count Me Out” on a Tyler Perry-level.

“I, along with my cast, received that great honor. The cast is the best of the best talent in the state of Alabama. They have earned theater degrees under the leadership of Dr. (Toni) Stewart, director of the theater department at Alabama State University. She has played in ‘The Heat of the Night’ and the time-honored movie, ‘A Time to Kill.’”

James said “Don’t Count Me Out” will be of special interest to the memberships of area churches, youth groups and ministers.

Advance tickets are $15 and are available at Step and Style in Troy. Tickets will be $20 at the door.
