Goshen mother and son suffer life-threatening injuries

A mother and child suffered life-threatening injuries after their car collided with a tree Monday afternoon.

The collision occurred around 4:10 p.m. when 29-year-old Stacey M. Beasley and her 11-year-old son were headed North on 231 when a tire blew out on her 2000 Ford F-250, said Sgt. Kevin Cook Monday evening.

Ms. Beasley was taken to Baptist South in Montgomery, while her son was airlifted to UAB.

Both were wearing their seat belts, according to the Pike County Sheriff Department.

The two were from Goshen, and the crash occurred on the 87-mile marker on 231.

Cook said he does not believe that speed was a factor in the accident.
