Mrs. Mattie Ester Brooks Johnson, age 87 of Troy died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow in the Orion Methodist Church Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She will also lie-in-state at the church 1hour prior to the service.
She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law Robert Calep “Bobby: and Sue Johnson of Troy, Jeffrey and Jackie Johnson of Orlando, her grandchildren Robert Don and Alisa Johnson of Tennessee, Jennifer and Curtis Jordan of Helena, Jennings Johnson of Orlando and Jenna Johnson of Orlando, honorary grandchild Amy, great grandchild Parker Jordan, several nieces and nephews.
The Deacons of Southside Baptist church will be active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Malone Chandler and the Philathea Sunday School Class at Southside Baptist Church.
Memorial may be made to the Orion Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Troy Bank and Trust or the Southside Baptist Church.
