“We just want to invite everybody to come out downtown on the square at the gazebo,” said Shelia Jackson, Director of Public Relations and Tourism.

“We’re expecting a big crowd.”

That crowd will feast on free hot dogs and chips while enjoying a variety of talented performers who will usher in TroyFest.

Those acts will include the SheBANG! championship cloggers, local six-string sensation Johnny Barron, his pupil Madisyn Johnson and the vocals of Christine Barron.

Jackson, who will also be performing, said the Brownbag event is a fitting way to open the floor for TroyFest, which is a big weekend for the city of Troy.

“This is the year of small towns downtown,” she said.

“We’re just excited to be able to have this event.”
