The Zion Chapel Rebels were able to take care of Francis Marion in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs Friday afternoon.

ZCHS swept into the second round with wins by the scores of 13-0 and 14-3.

“We had a good showing (on Friday),” Rebels’ head coach Lucas Davis said.

“Francis Marion is a good team but we showed up and did what we had to do to win.”

Garrett Stinson pitched a no-hitter in the first game, striking out 13 batters.

At the plate, Will Bedsole finished 4-4 with a home run and two RBIs, while Lance Walden finished 3-4 with an inside the park home run and three RBIs.

In the second game, Devin Jacksin got the win, while striking out 10.

Blake Powell hit two home runs while Bedsole also added another home run in the victory.
