Julia Lucille (McDonald) Hattaway joined the heavenly choir on April 1, 2010 at 101 years of age. She was born to William and Ella McDonald on October 22, 1908. Her parents and three sisters, all deceased (Alma, Lois and Ruth) helped the young Julia develop into the woman her husband, children and friends loved so much.
Julia married the late Auburn Hattaway(Shine) in 1939 and they lived in the Troy area all there married lives. They were happily married until his death in 1975 and had three children, William Hattaway of Niceville, Fl., Peggy Hattaway of Niceville, and Jerry Hattaway of Montgomery. She had 6 Grandchildren, Linda , Earl, Clifton, Brenda, Scott and Steven, and many great grandchildren.
Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her longevity could be attributed to her loved filled, stress free life. She went from her parents to her husband and after his death to her daughter Peggy, who looked after her every need for over 30 years. From now on she will be receiving the best of care in the house of the Lord.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 Am at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Cemetery.
