Evelyn Hubbard

Mrs. Evelyn Walker Hubbard, a long time resident of Troy, Alabama died Wednesday afternoon March 17, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Hubbard was 90 years old. She moved to Atlanta January 23, 2010 and was in the care of her only grandson, Brent Mooneyham and friend Brian Rouse. Prior to her move to Atlanta she was in the care of her only son, Billy Frank Mooneyham for the past ten years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Ken May officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 Hours prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
Evelyn Walker Hubbard finished high school around 1937 and proceeded to finish beauty school before 1940. From that time until the early 1980’s she worked and sometimes managed several beauty shops around Troy. She owned her own beauty shop also for over 30 years. Mrs. Hubbard was not only a devoted housewife but was a fabulous southern cook, homemaker and loved to garden and ten to her rose garden. She loved and was loved by many good friends and will never be forgotten.
Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her husband Walter B. Hubbard, March 5, 2000. Evelyn Walker Hubbard was the daughter of the late Jeremiah Brent Walker and Eula Bryant Walker of Clayton who died in 1968 and 1976 respectively. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Walker of Troy (1985), Homer Lee Walker of Louisville (1987), and James Luther Walker of Clayton (2009) and one sister, Maudie B. Walker Woodham of Clayton (2005).
Evelyn Walker Hubbard is survived by her only Son, Billy Frank Mooneyham of Troy, and her only Grandson, Brent Adam Mooneyham of Atlanta. Daughter-in-law, Peggy Mooneyham of Montgomery, Nieces, Merell Burnham and family of Texasville, Mary Jane Walker of Ozark, Martha B. Walker and family of Ozark, Nephews, Billy Woodham and wife Patricia and their family of Dothan, Thomas Walker and family of Troy, Jerry Walker and family of Chaney Branch, Sister-in-law Merle Walker of Troy, Other family members, Ralph and Debbie Farmer Of Enterprise and their daughter, Robin Farmer of Atlanta. Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church.
