“Contestants will be judged in three areas — interview, verbal communication and evening gown modeling,” Campbell said. “Each contestant will have a private interview with a panel of judges. In verbal communication, the contestants will draw a word and have one minute to discuss that topic on stage. The pageant will also include on-stage modeling.”

Contestants must be females who are between the ages of 17 and 21 as of Oct. 1, 2010, and live in the City of Troy or attend school in Troy.

Contestants cannot have previously competed in the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant and must be of good moral character. They must be single, not pregnant or ever given birth to a child and must be clear of any judicial cases and never convicted of any crimes.

Contestants will be required to attend practice on April 24, the day of the pageant.
