Terry Sikes tourney continues
While the Terry Sikes Invitational may have gotten under way Thursday night, things kicked into high gear Friday afternoon as all 10 teams were in action.
Tuscaloosa County and Hoover High School were the first two teams to take the field Friday, with a morning match up at Riddle-Pace Field.
It took eight innings, but in the end, Hoover was able to come out victorious in its game, winning 9-8.
Northridge didn’t have quite as difficult of a time against Decatur, as it won 10-3.
The first game at Charles Henderson’s Frazier Field was also not a close one, as Eufaula was over Butler County Magnet School to the tune of 17-2.
In the fourth game at Riddle-Pace Field, Hoover defeated Hazel Green 11-8. Tuscaloosa County was able to take care of Decatur in the Friday finale at Charles Henderson, thanks to a five-innings 14-2 win.
The game between Eufaula and Paul W. Bryant ended after the Messenger’s press time.
In the final day of action, all the teams will be present, again.
Hoover and Hazel Green will kick things off at Charles Henderson at 10 a.m. while Northview and Northridge will due battle in Riddle-Pace Field.
Charles Henderson will be in the second game at Riddle-Pace Field against Butler Co. Magnet School, with the game scheduled for noon.
