An Elba man was transported to the hospital Tuesday, after his vehicle collided with another and overturned in Troy.

Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, two vehicles collided on Elba Highway near the Army Aviation Credit Union, said Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough.

The second was a 1997 GMC van headed south driven by Patrick Dion Brooks, of Elba.

Scarbrough said Brooks’ van overturned in the incident, and he was transported by Care Ambulance to Troy Regional Medical Center.

Scarbrough said the status of his condition is unknown at this time, but on the scene his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

There were no passengers in the vehicles.

Scarbrough said the cause of the incident is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
