Mrs. Cleone W. Oakes, age 90, of Banks, AL. died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Troy Health and Rehab in Troy. Funeral services for Mrs. Cleone W. Oakes will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church, Josie, AL. with Rev. Cary Sanders, Rev. Jimmy Helms and Minister Jay Gates officiating. Mrs. Oakes will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m. one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Ramah Church Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation for Mrs. Cleone W. Oaks was held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Mrs. Oakes was born April 24, 1919 in Bullock County, AL. daughter of the late Mose Allen Williams and Molly Mann Williams. She was a homemaker in her own home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Henry Oakes, parents, infant son, Jessie Oaks, brother, Hosie Williams, 5 sisters, Pearl Williams, Nola Mae Faulkner, Mozell Day, Luanza Allen, and Jetta Lee Williams. Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Louie Gene (Joyce) Oakes and James (Shirley) Oakes, all of Banks, AL; daughter and husband: Ann (James) Middlebrooks, Brundidge, AL; 2 sisters: Ruby Whittington, Montgomery, AL; Joyce McLendon, Greenville, AL; 11 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Oakes, Jonathan Oakes, Glenn Adkins, Henry Middlebrooks, Peter Middlebrooks and Ricky Henderson.
