With the win, PLAS will move on to face Lee-Scott for the region championship today at 5 p.m.

The PLAS boys will also be in action today, but not for the region championship, this after falling to Lee-Scott 51-32 Thursday.

Despite the team’s tough loss, head coach Mike Barbaree said he was proud of aspects of his team’s performance.

“Our kids played hard, and they played really good defense,” Barbaree said. “We just couldn’t get our shots to fall.”

Chandler Avant led the way with nine points, while Martin Meeks scored eight.

With the loss, PLAS will face Fort Dale for third place in the region today at 3:30 p.m.

“Hopefully, Ft. Dale won’t shoot the ball as well as Lee-Scott did tonight,” Barbaree said. “I’m excited about it, and I believe in our kids. We’ve got a chance to be No. 3 in the region instead of No. 4, and that’s big for us.”
