Joan Jeffcoat Black, Age 78 , of Troy died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Stan Coston officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing. Visitation will be held Sunday January 24, 2010 from 1 until 2 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. .
Survivors include: Daughter and Son in law, Dr. Joan Black Pizitz and Richard A. Pizitz of Birmingham, Son and Daughter in law, Pete C. (Drew) Black of Troy, Grandchildren, Joanie (Mike) Johnson of Birmingham, Miriam R. Black of Troy, Elizabeth L. Black of Troy, Walter C. Black of Troy, Great Grandchildren, Alex C. Berryhill, Corbitt Berryhill, and Morgan R. Black. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Black , Parents, Roy and Mabel Jeffcoat , and a Brother, Charles Jeffcoat.
Mrs. Black was a loving wife to Walter Black for 50 years a devoted mother and grandmother and an avid gardner.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Troy Public Library.
