Trojans hope to bounce back in area play

The Charles Henderson Trojans have hit a bit of a skid lately.
After bringing its overall record back to .500 at 7-7 and winning its first three 5A Area 3 games, all looked right at CHHS.
However, thanks to two consecutive losses this past weekend, much as changed.
CHHS dropped a game to Rehobeth on Friday night by the score of 75-53 and then again to Dothan the following night at home, 43-36.
Head coach Carl Hollis called the loss to Dothan “very disappointing.”
“There isn’t any excuse for not working hard in a ball game,” he said after the game.
“You can’t have people jogging up and down the court and expect to win.”
The team shot just 31 percent from the floor and had more turnovers, with seven, than points, with two, in the second quarter.
After trailing my almost 20 points at one point, the Trojan made a rally, to cut the lead to under 10 points, before running out of chances and time.
CHHS enter tonight’s home game against Carroll with a 7-9 record and 3-1 in area play.
That area record is good enough for a tie for first place in the standings.
The Eagles come into the matchup with a 13-8 overall record, and a 2-2 area record.
Despite its loss to Dothan, the Trojans have played well on their home court, with a 6-3 record.
The two teams will meet after the conclusion of the JV and girls’ varsity games.
