More than a year after two former Badcock Home Furniture employees were arrested on charges of stealing more than $200,000 from the business, Angela Holloway of Luverne received a suspended sentence with five years of supervised probation and must pay $30,000 in restitution, according to Pike County Assistant District Attorney Scherryl Harrison.

Holloway was arrested along with her former coworker, Justin Craig Bradley of Troy, by the Troy Police Department on Dec. 9, 2008, where they were held in the Pike County Jail and released on bond.

Harrison said Bradley’s case is still pending at this point, but he has received deferred prosecution pending he pays his restitution.

At the time of the arrest, Troy Police Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough told The Messenger the theft occurred when cash transactions were made, and false credit accounts were established under another name.

“The theft of money allegedly occurred as cash transactions were made, and fictitious credit accounts were established under another’s name to cover the money stolen,” Scarbrough said.
