Annie “Angie” Wayne Swanner, age 72, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010. Miss Angie was a devoted servant to the Lord.
She was a pillar of strength and hope for everyone that knew her.
She was a member of Olive Baptist Church and of the Joy Sunday School Class.
She sang in the adult choir and volunteered with hospice facilities in the Pensacola area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Edna Gibson and her sister-in-law, Sue Gibson.
She is survived by her two sons, Jim Matthews (Lisa) and Scott Matthews (Joan); five grandchildren, Sean Riffenburg (Karen), Keith Matthews, Ryan Matthews, Ashley Mena and Brandon Matthews; brother, Harold Gibson; uncle, Sam Gibson (Ella); aunt, Martha Debenau (Jack); niece, Karen Wells (Chris); nephews, Hal Gibson and Mike Gibson (Caron).
Pallbearers will be her family.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2009 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Olive Baptist Church’s special building fund.
