Coley Smith, age 78, a resident of Troy, Alabama died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 2:00 pmfrom the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Minister Ray Stinson and Minister David Dorsett officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Rocky Head with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home inTroy.
Mr. Smith is survived by his children: Brenda Williams of Brundidge, Nealey Gulledge of Troy, Dorothy (Missy) Johnson of Elba, Edward Smith of Kentucky and Neil Smith of Troy; 1 brother: Olen Smith of Phenix City; 3 sisters: Betty Maulden of Brundidge, Mary Faulkner of Troy and Brenda Baker of Troy; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Alice Allen Smith, 2 daughters: Faye Murphy and Romonia Penn; parents: Grady and Olene Smith; Sister: Dot McKenzie; grandchild: Joshua Smith and 1 great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Chris Williams, Danny Ray Owens, Stevie Murphy, Joe Ray Owens, Tony Faulkner and Luke Sanders.
Memorials may be made to the American Abused Children Fund.
