Services for Helen Maples will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Sweet Hope AME Church, Elamville, Alabama, with Rev. Henry R. Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sweet Hope AME Cemetery, Elamville, Alabama, under the direction of George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.
Mrs. Helen Maples was born April 29, 1945 in Barbour County, AL, and she joined Sweet Hope AME Church at a very early age. She moved in later years to Springfield, Massachusetts. She moved back home after she retired and married the late Nathan Maples.
On December 18, 2009, she was called to rest at the Opp Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by a loving father, Tellis Copeland, and a loving mother, Addie L. Daniel Copeland, and her sister, Annie Shipman.
Helen Maples is survived by: one brother, Robert L. Copeland (Gloria), of Ariton, AL; two sisters, Georgia Rhymes, Canton, OH, and Catherine Castor, Dothan, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
