A local man charged with rape and incest was acquitted by a Pike County Circuit Court Jury Wednesday.
Gregory Wallace, 40, of Troy was found not guilty of charges of rape first degree and incest.
“He was acquitted on all counts,” Virginia Lucci, Wallace’s defense attorney said. “He is obviously very happy about the results, as he has maintained his innocence throughout the process. He looks forward to putting this behind him now that his name has been cleared.”
Lucci said she didn’t believe this was merely a case of the state failing to meet its burden of proof.
“I believe that Mr. Wallace did not do the awful things that he was accused of doing,” Lucci said.
