Johnson Center ornaments on sale

With Christmas only a week away, shoppers who are looking for those special gifts that will have special meaning and purpose need look no farther than the Johnson Center for the Arts.

The arts center has a limited number of its 2009 Christmas ornaments still available for sale.

The ornaments make great gifts for those who have speical ties to or memories of the Johnson Center for the Arts when it was the former Troy Post Office and for those who now enjoy the many exhibitions and events at the arts center in Troy, said Richard Metzger, Troy-Pike Cultural Arts Center, executive director.

“The 2009 ornament design features the arched window that is one of the many features of the Johnson Center,” Metzger said.

“Our Christmas ornaments this year are handmade fused glass, crafted by local artist Walter Black and made exclusively for the Johnson Center. Having a local artist design and craft the ornaments makes them even more special and unique. These ornaments make wonderful keepsake gifts.”

The cost of the ornaments is $15 each and they may be purchased at the Johnson Center for the Arts on East Walnut Street in Troy. To reserve an ornament call the arts center at 670-2287.
