Troy Cable to undergo maintenance

Customers of Troy Cable may notice a temporary service loss some of this week, as the cable company works to make upgrades.
Ken Jordan, head engineer for Troy Cable, said from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday residents with digital cable may have a temporary loss of service.
This will be as the cable company does upgrades on its digital video system.
“We’ll have more capabilities to add future services,” said Ashlee Henderson, project manager.
Jordan said while those exact services haven’t been decided, this will open the door for future options, like more high-definition channels, as an example.
“Eventually it would make room for more HDs. I just don’t know when,” Jordan said.
If digital cable services are not available by 6 a.m. Wednesday, Henderson said residents should contact Troy Cable.
“We certainly appreciate all the patience of our valued customers,” Henderson said.
Also at Troy Cable, the company now has the option for online bill pay.
By going to www.troycable.net, residents can pay their cable bills from home, rather than going to the business.
There are no charges for paying online, but residents will have to have a copy of their bills to set up an account.
Through the service, customers can also sign up to receive e-mailed versions of their bills and reprogram their cable boxes.
“We hope to add many, many more features in the future,” Henderson said.
