When Santa Claus comes to town, children are wide-eyed with excitement. And, when they have an opportunity to sit at Santa’s knees and listen to him read a Christmas story, there’s something very special about the experience.
“Children love to have stories read to them and, when Santa Claus takes time to share a story with them, it’s something they will always remember,” said Teresa Colvin, Troy Public Library children’s librarian.
Something very special will happen at the Troy Public Library from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8. That’s when Santa takes time from his busy schedule to visit the Troy Public Library and all the good little boys and girls who enjoy hearing stories as much as he enjoys reading them.
“Christmas Stories with Santa” is an annual event at the Troy Public Library and one of the most popular.
“The children who come to visit Santa will have a chance to make a holiday craft as well as hear stories from Santa,” Colvin said.
“‘Christmas Stories with Santa’ is a come and go event and we try arrange it so that the babies and youngest children get to see Santa first. But Santa will be here until he sees all of the good little boys and girls and listens to their Christmas wishes.”
Colvin said all children should bring their Christmas wish lists to share with Santa.
“Santa will want to know what’s on each list so children need to ready to tell him,” she said.
“Parents may bring their cameras to capture their child’s visit. Photos with Santa make wonderful keepsakes.”
Registration is not required and all children are invited to come see Santa at the Troy Public Library on Dec. 8.
