Services for James Walter (Bear) Scott will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at
Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Troy, Alabama, with Rev. Stanley Scott officiating.
Burial will follow at the Carroll Street Cemetery, Troy, Alabama, under the direction of
George F. Grubbs Funeral Home, Troy.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at George F. Grubbs
Funeral Home, Troy, Alabama.
Mr. James Walter Scott was born to the late Estella Scott on December 31, 1950 in Pike County, Alabama.
He attended public schools in Pike County. He was an excellent basketball player where he attended school at Academy Street High School.
After an extended illness, he departed this life on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two devoted sisters, Bobbie Elder (Solomon) of Troy, Alabama and Christine Oliver of Dothan, Alabama; one devoted brother, Willie Fred Scott (Jennifer) of Dothan, Alabama; three God sisters, Wanda Elder Brooks (Rodney) of Montgomery, Alabama, Valerie Elder Brown and Rena Elder, both of Troy, Alabama; one devoted aunt, Queen Ester Brown, of Troy, Alabama; two uncles, Hiawatha Scott of Sanford, Florida and Townsend Scott, Jr. (Neudie) of Tribly, Florida; one evoted nephew, Robert Wigfall, Jr. (LaChun) of Dothan, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews
