Jackie Paxton Turner of Wicksburg passed away Tuesday evening, November 24, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 57.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 27, 2009 from the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Marcus Ramer officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00pm and continuing until service time.
Jackie was born June 19, 1952 in Houston County to the late Paxton “P.B.” and Sybil Thomley Turner. A sister, Betty Rice and a brother, Travis Turner preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ninna Turner, Wicksburg, his son: Michael Paxton Turner,his wife Samantha and his mother, Diane Stamps all of Troy, step-daughters: Stephanie Treadaway and husband Justin and Holly Tingdale (Josh) all of Wicksburg, 6 sisters: Joey Turner, Linda Jones (Monroe) and Shelia Bell (Bill)all of Wicksburg, Monica Harrison (Ed) Geneva, Marty Davis, Panama City, Fl, Sylvia Holmes (Paul), Griffin, Ga, 2 brothers: Eddie Turner (Malinda, Wicksburg, Roger Turner (Gail), Panama City, Fl, 2 grandchildren: Adam Paxton and Brady Jackson Turner, 7 step-grandchildren: Kaleb, Dakotah Alana, Gwynah, Bowen, Sutherlin and Cash, a lifelong friend Walter Hardy, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be C.B. Driskell, Walter Hardy, Justin Treadaway, Kaleb Devier, Dakotah Devier, Josh Hartzog.
