Some 20 beauties from near and far will vie for the crown in the first-ever Miss Goshen Rodeo Pageant tonight.
The pageant will begin at 6 p.m. at Goshen Town Hall and is being held in conjunction with the Professional Cowboy’s Association Rodeo Nov. 20 and 21.
Event organizer Monica Law said right now there are 15 to 20 girls that have signed up.
“We will take entries at the door,” Law said.
“We are shooting for 25 girls.”
The entry fee is $25 plus a $5 late fee per event.
The age groups are: 0 to 2 years, 3 to 4 years, 5 to 6 years, 7 to 8 years, 9 to 10 years, 11 to 12 years, 13 to 14 years, 15 to 16 years and 17 to 21 years.
Law said the horsemanship event was held Tuesday, and the winner will be announced tonight.
“The winners will be showcased at the rodeo,” Law said.
Law said there were seven paid entries for the horsemanship event.
All the participants haven’t been from Pike County.
“We had a girl from Verbena come down,” Law said.
“We have two or three that actually traveled.”
Admission for tonight’s pageant is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
