Mr. Gene Childs, 60, of Troy, died Sunday, Oct. l8, 2009 at Medical Center Enterprise,
Enterprise, Al.
Service for Mr. Gene Childs will be 1:00 pm. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Leon Fortune officiating .
He will lie in state from 12:00-1:00 pm, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Waters Cemetery, (Mixon Community) with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.
Mr. Childs was born August 29, 1949 in New Hope, AL. to the late Laudine &Edna Dyes Childs.
He was an Auto &Diesel Mechanic. Survivors include his significant other, Sue Jerles, Troy, AL; children &spouses, David &Gina Childs, Micheal Childs, Shawn Jerles, Susan Kennedy &Oswaldo Ryes, &Kristina &Brandon Senn, all of Troy, Al; 8 grandchildren: Chris Walker, Vicki Childs, Timmy Kennedy, Tubby Kennedy, Devon Taylor, Ethan Senn, Bailey Senn &Elizabeth Jerles.
Brother &wife, James &Lillian Childs, Elba, AL; 2 nieces, Felicia Pate, Elba; and Jane Rae Childs, Michigan.
Serving as pallbearers are David Childs, Micheal Childs, Shawn Jerles, Chris Walker, Timmy Kennedy, Tubby Kennedy &Oswaldo Ryes.
