Troy Police arrested a man in the act of burglarizing a car on Park Street Thursday morning.

Jimmy Donald Reynolds, a 42-year-old black male of Troy, has been arrested and charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and is in the Pike County Jail, said Capt. Jimmy Ennis.

He was first seen in the area, but when officers arrived on scene, they found him in a different apartment complex inside a vehicle that did not belong to him.

“We had an observant, alert individual who saw him looking into cars and pulling on handles,” Ennis said.

In an unrelated incident, Troy Police also made two arrests for a burglary that took place over the weekend.

A burglary was reported Oct. 12 in a home located on the 2000 block of Elm Street, where Ennis said several items were stolen, ranging from a microwave to construction tools.

With the assistance of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, Ennis said two suspects were apprehended.

Shawn Franklin Corbin, a 29-year-old white male, and Tanya Little Mitchell, a 42-year-old white female, both of Troy, have been arrested in connection with the crime.

Corbin faces charges of receiving stolen property second degree and Mitchell is charged with burglary third degree.

Both were taken to the Pike County Jail on bonds of $2,500. Ennis said some of the property has been recovered, and police continue to look for the rest. What has been found is worth more than $4,200.
