Mrs. Elvie Lee Lightner, age 87 a resident of Noble Manor in Troy died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Troy Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Henderson Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Thomas and Reverend Chase Chance officiating. Burial will follow in the Henderson Memorial Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. She will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral at the church.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Grover C. Lee and James Lightner, and 6 sisters.
She is survived by her children Gloria and Charles Cook of Bagdad, Fl, Glen and Patsy Lee of Brundidge, Kate and Watson Kyzar of Goshen, Charles and Shirley Lee of Troy, and Ann and Rex B. Arnett of Brundidge, grandchildren Chris and Daphane Lee of Brundidge, Jay and Valerie Kyzar of Goshen, Lee and Jason Kelley of Jacksonville, Shannon Cattret of Brundidge, Kim and Brent Chesser of Brundidge, Kerry Lee of Montgomery, Nathan and Mellisa Lee of Troy, 9 great grandchildren, a sister Mary Charles Corbitt of Phenix City, several nieces and nephews.
She lived in the Palmyra Community, and was a long time member of the Henderson Baptist Church until moving to Noble Manor and joining Bush Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Brundidge after working for 28 years.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Lee, Jay Kyzar, Nathan Lee, Jason Kelley, Chris Thomas, Brent Chesser, and Greg Ricks.
