Mrs. Margaret Louise Morgan Green, age 84, a resident of Troy, AL.died Friday, October 2, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services for Margaret Louise Morgan Green will held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Sandfield Cemetery with Rev. Bo Weed officiating under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy. Mrs. Green will lie in state at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service. Visitation for Margaret Louise Morgan Green will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy. Mrs. Green was born March 7, 1925 in Montgomery, Al.
Mrs. Green was retired from retail sales in the furniture business. She was the daughter of the late Tommie and Annie Johnson Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Mr. Samuel Elbert Green, a son, Sammy Green, parents, Tommy and Annie Morgan, a sister, Hilda Tidwell, and her son-in-law, Bill Turner. Survivors include 3 daughters and a son-in-law: Glendora Turner, Tuscaloosa, AL; Ginny Butts, Childersburg, AL; Shelby (Jim) Golden, Lawrenceville, GA; 1 son and daughter-in-law: Ernest and Ginger Green, Troy, AL; 8 grandchildren and spouses: Angela (David) Fernandez, Tuscaloosa, AL; Lee Turner, Rhoadesville, VA; Heather (Nick) Patterson, Brandon, MS; Beth (David) Lane, Birmingham, AL; Michael and Todd Golden, both of Lawrenceville, GA; Dresden and Josey Green, both of Troy, AL; 8 great- grandchildren: Davis, Libba and Turner Fernandez, Tuscaloosa, AL; Abigail Tuner, Rhoadesville, VA; Cooper, Hadley and Lilly Rae Patterson, all of Brandon, MS; and Hayden Taylor, Birmingham, AL; 2 sisters-in-law and husband: Dora Cordle, Troy, AL; Ruth (Ed) Faulkner, Banks, AL. Pallbearers will be Danny Brabham, Steve Brabham, Britt Newman, Rudy Cordle, Mike Caddell and Terry Kersey II. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Cordle, Leon Cordle, Randy Cordle, Walter Caddell, Jerry Cope, Mike Green, Frankie High and Butch Richardson. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Mrs. Margaret Louise Green to Sandfield Cemetery Trust Fund, 6153 AL. Hwy. 223, Troy, AL. 36081. The family would like to thank special friends, Mrs. Betty Hunt, Mrs. Emily Brabham, Mrs. Bonnie Brown, Mrs. Sybil Coston and Dora Grissette.
