Troy woman victim of fatal crash

A two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 74-year-old Troy woman Sunday night.

Dorothy Ann Jackson Dix, of Troy, died Sunday after her vehicle collided with another around 7 p.m. in the northbound land of U.S. Highway 231 at Trojan Way, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage. Dix was traveling west on Trojan Way prior to the collision.

Dix, driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu, was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead in the ER.

Three passengers in the vehicle also were injured in the incident.

Rose Ballard, 69, Tyler Andew Mitchel and Willis Reeves Walker, both 14, were also transported to TRMC.

Ballard was later transported to Montgomery’s Baptist South Hospital with a broken jaw and suffering from a heart attack. Mitchel and Reeves were both treated and released.

The second vehicle was driven by April Michelle Armstrong, 34, of Montgomery, driving a 2008 Pontiac G-6. She had a 5–year-old passenger Taylor Danielle Armstrong.

Both were transported to TRMC for minor injuries by Care Ambulance, where they were treated and released.

The cause of collision remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
