Columbia-Webb eliminates Ashford

Matthew Nall kept Columbia-Webb in the Dixie Boys tournament at the Troy Sportsplex Thursday night.

Nall threw a three-hit shutout and struck out 12, as Columbia eliminated Ashford, 3-0.

LaDonis Bryant scored in the first inning and that was all Haywood needed, but Matthew Freeman scored in the fifth inning and Joshua Clark scored in the sixth inning to give Nall some insurance.

Columbia moves on in the tournament to face Dothan at 6 p.m. today.

Enterprise 7

Ozark 5

Enterprise’s all-stars stood tall and eliminated Ozark in comeback fashion Thursday night at the Sportsplex, 7-5.

Robbie Stockhausen scored in the first inning for Enterprise and Tyler Cobb, Dylan Holt and Jacob Peters each scored for Ozark in the first. Ozark widened the lead to 4-1 when Charles Keys scored.

Ryan Holub, Jacob Watson, Billy Jacob, Brett Dunaway and Brian Burnett each scored for Enterprise in the third inning and Jacob scored in the fifth for Enterprise.

Enterprise faces Troy at 8 p.m. tonight.

Greenville 12

Elba 5

Greenville knocked Elba from the Dixie Junior Boys tournament with a 12-5 comeback win at the Sportsplex Thursday.

Chip Taylor and Michael Meyers each scored in the first to give Greenville a 2-0 lead and Caleb Whigham scored in the second.

Elba tied the score with three runs in the second and took a 5-3 lead in the fourth.

Elba could not muster another run and Greenville scored six runs in the fifth and three in the seventh for the win.

Greenville faces Troy in a rematch tonight at 6 p.m. with the if necessary game immediately following if Greenville wins.

Troy won the first meeting 19-0 in the first round of the tournament.
