Nationals ready to represent Troy in tournament play

The Farm Tournament Nationals have been preparing all week for the district tournament in Luverne today.

“This is a fun time of the year because these kids were playing against each other all year and now they are playing together,” head coach Andy Blair said. “This is a great set of new opportunities and we are really looking forward to it.”

Blair said the team is looking good and getting used to playing with each other.

“We have been looking good and we never knew we could hit until we showed up at practice games and hit the ball well,” Blair said.

Blair said representing the city is what is motivating the athletes.

“It is one of these deals that you take pride in being from Troy,” he said. “We want to get where no one wants to play Troy. We have 12 kids on this team are just awesome.

The Farm Nationals include, Jackson Blair, Caden Bryan, Jaylen Deveridge, Braxton Golden, Payne Griffen, Graham Hamlin, Logan Johnson, Bendarius Myhand, Nicholas O’Brien, Drew Reeves, Ty Singleton and Clayton Steed.

Blair is the team’s head coach and David Singleton, David Hamlin, Kevin Bryan and Craig Griffin.

The Farm Nationals will join the Farm Americans and open play in the district tournament June 26 at 8 p.m. in Luverne.
