Whittaker, Mary Fannin, 89, a lifelong resident of Montgomery died Sunday, May 31, 2009. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Pike County, AL with Dr. Perry Neal officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service at Leak-Memory Chapel from 10 – 11:30 AM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Folsom Whittaker, and her children, Erin and Don Whittaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianne W. Wright (Buddy); daughter-in-law, Susan Whittaker; grandchildren, Mary Lynn Hubbard (David), Laurie Ann Collins, Keith Baylor (Celeste), Slone Wright, Todd Whittaker, Bridget Whittaker and Brandy Whittaker, six great-grandchildren, Perri Hubbard, Mitchell Hubbard, Cory Collins, Drayah Baylor, Brady Baylor, and Story Baylor; sisters, Frances Manning, Alice Green and Julia Chandler; brothers, William Fannin and Oren Fannin. Active pallbearers will be Robert Manning, Lewis Fannin , Cory Collins, Mitchell Hubbard, Keith Baylor, and Slone Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Oren Fannin, Edgar Fannin, Burton Green, Todd Whittaker, the Victory Bound Sunday School Class at Heritage Baptist Church, Baptist Hospice of Montgomery, AL and Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee, FL.
