An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Richard Haygood Crawford passed away on Monday, May 18 in Baton Rouge at the age of 76. He was a native of Andalusia, AL and a resident of Baton Rouge for 44 years.
He was a retired 25-year employee of Borden Chemical in Geismar. He is survived by his son, Richard H. Crawford, Jr. (Dianne M.), Austin, TX; daughter Tammy A. Crawford, Baton Rouge and son David M. Crawford, Chicago, IL; granddaughters Amelia L. Crawford and Carlisle F. Crawford, Austin, TX and Caitlyn A. Parker, Baton Rouge; and grandsons Richard Benjamin Crawford, Austin, TX, Jeffrey D. Parker, Jr. and Shannon M. Parker, Baton Rouge. Visitation Thursday, May 21 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. Visitation Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM at Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia, AL. Burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Andalusia, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Benjamin and Cleta Augusta Crawford, wife Sara Nell Crawford and daughter Melanie Crawford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the ARC of the United States or a charity of your choice.
