Barbecue plates for sale

Barbecue fans can curb their appetites this weekend with a church fundraiser.

Members of the Beulah cemetery committee and Beulah Church board members will sponsor a barbecue lunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Plates will cost $7 and will include barbecue pork, potato salad, baked beans, bread and a dessert.

According to Catherine Liepins, who is helping with the event, this is one of the fundraisers the church and cemetery does every year. “We do things to raise money for the church and the cemetery,” Liepins said. “We try to do it every year.”

Liepins said they try to raise money help make sure the cemetery’s grass gets cuts and markers are replaced when needed.

“We also need an air conditioning for the church. So we can have singings,” she added.
