Two former Badcock Home Furniture employees will face trial after allegedly stealing more than $200,000 from the business.

Angela Holloway, 36, of Luverne, and Justin Craig Bradley, 24, of Troy, have been indicted by a Pike County Grand Jury and will face trial on charges of theft of property first degree.

The indictment, which came in March, stems from an incident that took place between 2006 and December 2008, where the two were said to have slowly taken $231,771 from the store.

The two were arrested by the Troy Police Department on Dec. 9, 2008, where they were held in the Pike County Jail and released on bond.

At the time of arrest, Troy Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, said the theft took place when the two reportedly set up false credit accounts after purchases were made with cash payments.

“The theft of money allegedly occurred as cash transactions were made, and fictitious credit accounts were established under another’s name to cover the money stolen,” Scarbrough previously told The Messenger.

Both will face charges of just one count of theft of property first degree, though multiple thefts allegedly took place.

Pike County Assistant District Attorney Larry Jarrell said the charge is likely theft of property first degree, since the total sum of money is high. If convicted, the two could face between one and 10 years in prison.
