Another doubleheader weekend loss to non-area foes dropped the Charles Henderson Trojans down the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 5A rankings, as released today.
The Trojans (19-9) dropped from No. 4 to No. 8.
The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots (12-2) only played one game since the last poll and remained at No. 3 in the AISA poll.
Charles Henderson went 2-2 with two wins over area foe Carroll, but had losses to then 4A No. 5 Bibb County and then 6A No. 1 Pelham last Saturday in Troy.
Two of the teams that passed CHHS in the polls beat the Trojans and the other two went undefeated since the last poll.
No. 4 Southside-Gadsden went 5-0, No. 7 Beauregard went 5-0 and No. 5 Briarwood Christian and No. 6 Pleasant Grove each beat CHHS earlier this year.
The Pike Patriots destroyed No. 6 Fort Dale 12-1 Tuesday in their only game in the last week. There were only minor changes in the order of the AISA, but the teams in the Top-10 remained the same.
