Bulldogs run rule Abbeville, PCHS softball loses

Pike County’s Bulldogs made quick work of Abbeville Wednesday night in a makeup area game in Brundidge.
The Bulldogs took out Abbeville 11-0 Wednesday to improve to 6-8 on the season and 1-1 in AHSAA Class 3A, Area 4 action. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Bulldogs.
Corey Lee led the charge for PCHS, compiling two hits, one run scored and four RBIs. Jacquez Walker added two hits, two runs scored and one RBI. Azrael Larkin also had two hits, two runs scored and one RBI.
Martin Larkin had two hits, one run scored and two RBIs. Deion Nickson had two hits with one run scored and one RBI.
Zack Ming contributed one hit, one run scored and two RBIs. Austin Rushing had two hits and one run scored. Ryan Stroud had one hit and two runs scored.
The JV Bulldogs also beat Abbeville Wednesday, 6-5.

Blake Maulden had one run scored and one RBI and Alvin Rogers had one hit.
The Bulldogs lost to Cottonwood Tuesday night, 10-2.
Lee had two hits, one run scored and one RBI. Stroud had two hits and one run scored. Cody Sanders had two hits and Nickson, Azrael Larkin and Ming added one hit each.
The Lady Bulldogs softball team varsity and JV both lost against Abbeville Wednesday.
The varsity squad lost 15-0 and Candace Powell got the team’s only hit. The JV squad lost 14-3 and Samaria Mahan, Powell and Liberty Kilpatrick each scored one run.
Caryanna Maulden had two hits and Mahan, Powell, Gabrielle Mahan and Kaitlyn Allen each had one hit.
