Nellie Jordan Cook
Nellie Jordan Cook, age 97, a resident of Banks, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11a.m. at the Ramah Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Cary Sanders and Reverend John Harden officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ramah Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
There will be a one hour lie-in-state at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her Children: Louise and Ezra Black of Phenix City, C.B. Cook of Banks, Clarence Cook of Opelika, Mary Dykes of Banks, Robbie and Gene Cameron of Smiths and Shirley Ann Cook of Banks; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Benton and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband John Robert Cook, daughter and son-in-law Ouida and Eddie Cameron, brothers and sisters, Minnie Austin, Clem Jordan, Rosa Hegler, Lula Johnson, Johnnie Jacobs and Clint Jordan; parents John and Queen Easter Jordan.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family would like to express special thanks to the employees of Pike County Health Services and Troy Regional Health Services.
