Trojans drop two in Dothan
Charles Henderson’s Thursday trek to Dothan High School was not a good one, as they were swept by the Tigers in a doubleheader.
The Trojans (9-3) lost the first game, 8-7 and Nathan Barron took the loss on the mound. He threw three innings and allowed seven runs on five hits, walked four batters and struck out two.
Troy took the lead early in the second inning at 1-0, but could not hang on for the win. Dothan scored seven in the second and the Trojans cut the lead to 7-5 in the sixth inning, but Dothan added one run in the sixth and that was the difference.
CHHS added two runs in the seventh.
In game two, Jake Smith went the distance for a complete game for the Trojans, allowing five runs on seven hits. He struck out five and walked two. Troy lost 5-3.
Up next for the Trojans is a doubleheader Saturday. CHHS faces Plainview at 10 a.m. and Wicksburg at 5:30 p.m. in Troy.
