Pike Liberal’s softball team picked up its first win of the 2009 season at home against Hooper Monday night in Troy.

The Lady Patriots (1-1, 1-0 AISA Class 3A, Region 1) took out Hooper 5-4, as Shelby Broderway pitched a complete game.

“Shelby did a great job for us on the mound and we played great defense behind her,” PLAS head coach Mendy Avant said.

Up next for the Lady Patriots is a region game at home against Macon-East Thursday.
