Troy men head for Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Troy Trojans are on the road for their final road contest of the 2008-09 season and will face the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns on Thursday night at the Cajundome in Sun Belt action.
The Cajuns’ (9-17, 6-9 SBC) are trying to be the only team in the Sun Belt to sweep the season series with Troy.
Louisiana Lafayette defeated the Trojans 83-81 on January 10 at Trojan Arena.
Troy enters the game trying to regain the momentum they possessed prior to their loss at FIU.
The Trojans had been the winners of 10 straight games, but they have won 12 of their last 14 contests.
Brandon Hazzard leads Troy offensively, averaging 15.9 points per game. The junior has led the Trojans in scoring 11 times this season.
Troy is just one game out of the East division lead, trailing the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
The Trojans have locked up a bye through the first round to Hot Springs, Arkansas site of the 2009 Sun Belt Championship.
Tip-off for Saturday’s game is set for 7:05 pm at the Cajundome.
