The Goshen Lady Eagles softball team opened the season with a 5-0 shutout in Ariton Monday afternoon.

Alli Warrick threw a complete game, one-hitter with 14 strikeouts, five walks and four hit batters.

Goshen scored one run in the first, two in the second, one in the third and one in the seventh.

Amanda Griggs was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Sidney Sullivan, Kristen Dease, Samantha Roy, Kaitlin Thomas and Caneshia Whatley each scored a run.

The JV Lady Eagles lost 4-2 Monday.

Sullivan and Roy each had a double and Roy had eight strikeouts on the mound in the loss.
