Hamilton Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its annual Valentine’s Banquet on Saturday.
There will be a silent auction at the banquet to benefit the fire department.
Fire Chief Tad Dent says the event is always fun, and that 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the fire department.
“Lots of retail stores and local artists donate things to auction off, and, of course, the highest bid wins it,” Dent said.
“This is always just a lot of fun.”
This is the fire department’s fourth year to hold the banquet.
Dent said that the banquet gets better every year.
“We want to make sure people are getting their money worth,” Dent said.
“Every year this banquet gets better. It’s just something special and different for our department.”
Volunteers for the fire department will be serving the guests.
Dent said the guests typically wear a mix of church clothes and casual wear.
“We want people to feel like they can come just as they are, but most people wear church clothes,” Dent said.
“We have nice ambience lighting and light jazz to set the mood for the evening.”
The Sit and Sip will cater the event, and tickets are $15 per person.
Wednesday is the deadline to purchase tickets.
According to Dent, the food is always wonderful.
“This is just really, really good food. It’s wonderful,” Dent said.
“We have never wanted the banquet to seem cheap, so we work hard to make sure that everything is first class.”
The banquet will take place Saturday night at 6:30 in the Church of Christ Activity Building at Hamilton Crossroads, right off of 231.
