Services for Maxine Elizabeth Gay, 87, of Decatur, who died February 01, 2009 will be at 2 p.m. February 04, 2009 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at the funeral home.
Ms. Gay was born July 19, 1921. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 60 years, very active in church organizations, avid gardener, flower lover and a loving person to All who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jube and Carrie Ida Bennett Lindsey and four brothers, Alton (Totsie) Lindsey, Relmon (Toxie) Lindsey, Flavis (Katie) Lindsey and Elton Ray Lindsey.
Survivors include a son, Carson Gay and wife Jo of Gulfs Shores; grandchildren, Heather and Murray Loper of Gulf Shores and Stuart and Janel Gay of Gulf Shores; step grandson, Rick and Gabby Dendy of Fairhope; great-grandchildren, Emmett Loper of Alberta, Addison Gay of Gulf Shores, Ella Stuart Gay of Gulf Shores and James Dendy of Fairhope; sister, Nell and Sam Kirsch of Gulf Port MS; two brothers, Jake and Anne Lindsey of Baldwin MS and Francis and Billie Lindsey of Baldwin; seventeen nephews and fourteen nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund.
