Mr. Jeffrey Paul Griffin, age 43, of Gainesville died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.
Jeff loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and friends.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and played with the U.S. Army National Band.
He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.
He also was a member of the Al Bennett Sunday school class.
He played different instruments with the Blackshear Place Orchestra.
He loved boating on Lake Lanier and loved to travel.
Jeff always had a positive attitude and a very optimistic outlook on life.
He worked at Panasonic Factory Solutions.
He was survived by his wife, Joanna Kate Griffin; daughter, Elizabeth (Ellie) Catherine Griffine; son, Matthew Paul Griffin; father, G.V. Griffin and his wife Carolyn of Troy, Ala.; father and mother-in-law, Neil and Elizabeth Thompson of Williamsburg, Va.; grandmother, Annie Griffin of Collinsville, Ala.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Catherine Stubbs Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 24, 2009 at Blackshear Place Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Crook.
Mr. Griffin will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
