Mrs. Enid Virginia Whatley Benton age 68 of the Enon community died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Troy Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Enon Baptist Church with the Reverends J.C. Turner, Mack Moore and John Harden officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Church cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge Directing.
Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Friday, January 16, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
She was survived by her husband Leroy Benton, her children Lecia Benton, Michael and Patricia Benton and Randall Benton all of the Enon Community, 3 grandsons Alex Benton, Lee Benton and Trevor Benton, sisters Louise and Rev Mar-L Green, Jeanette and Vernon Benton, and Flossie Davenport, brothers William Whatley, Rev. Herbert and Ruth Whatley, Harry and Carolyn Whatley, Edward and Joyce Whatley, Flex and Shirley Whatley, her mother-in-law Bertha Benton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Thelma and Melba Whatley, her brother-in-law Willie D. Davenport and father-in-law Foy Albert Benton.
Active Pallbearers will be Don Austin, Shellie Anderson, Murry Jacobs, William Davenport, Charles Turner and Bobby Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, and her classmates at Pike County High School.
